Run a Virtual Drive

Our vulnerable neighbors are in need of our assistance. It’s almost impossible to remain socially distant when you are not in your own home.

We need your help with these critically needed items for our people at the emergency shelters (Southampton Men’s and Woods Mullen Women’s) and 1515 Commonwealth Avenue, the new Care Site for guests from the Woods Mullen Women’s and Southampton Men’s Emergency Shelters who test negative for Coronavirus so they can stay safe and healthy.

  • Critical Clothing Items – Socks, Hats, Gloves/Mittens, Scarves, Underwear, T-shirts, Sweatpants, Sweatshirts (sizes S-6X)
  • Individual Toiletry Items – Toothbrushes/paste, Soap, Shaving Cream, Razors, Feminine Hygiene Products, etc.
  • Make Blessing Bags for people filled with small personal care items (you could also include face masks, hand sanitizer, etc. too). If you google Blessing Bags, you can get a lot of great ideas of what to include.
  • Make Housewarming Baskets for people we are helping move out of the crowded shelters and unsafe outdoor spaces into safe, stable housing. Because all are homeless, they don’t have anything to get started in their new apartments and need a little help getting set up. Items don’t need to be expensive. You can read more about it here.

We cannot do this alone.

Virtual Drive: You can run a virtual drive for these critical items and purchase an order from any of your favorite online store: Amazon, Target, Old Navy, Five Below, CVS, Walmart. Some sites like Dollar Days take bulk orders and you could also pool your resources with co-workers/friends/family, make a donation, and we’ll purchase the items for you.

Items can be dropped off directly 24/7 at the Southampton Shelter, 112 Southampton Street right in the South End. The entrance is on Atkinson Street on the left hand side.

Items can also be shipped to the In-Kind Donations Coordinator: Dwayne Brown, Southampton Shelter 112 Southampton Street Boston, MA 02118.

We’re all in this together and we’ll get through it together. Thank you!
